KEMUDA Institute Organise Blood Donation Drive

The Blood Donation Centre of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital in collaboration with KEMUDA Institute in Beribi has organized a blood donation campaign.

The charitable drive, which took place at the KEMUDA Institute, aimed to raise awareness among the general public as well as staff and students of the institute on the importance of saving lives by boosting the national blood bank’s supply.

It was the 5th year that the RIPAS Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre and KEMUDA Institute organized such an event which received a good response not only from the students but also walk-in donors.

In order to ensure the sufficient stock of blood, the Blood Donation Centre always welcomes organizations and individuals to come to the donation centre.

The eligible age for blood donation starts at 17 years (with parental consent) and the donors must weigh more than 45kg. Those who want to donate their blood are welcome to drop by at the Blood Donation Centre, at the RIPAS Hospital.

Donors must go through health screening before they are eligible to donate blood. This is important to know their health status such as weight and the amount of haemoglobin in the body. Once they pass the screening test and are considered fit, they are allowed to make the donation.
